Electronic Cigarettes Safety Review

We have mentioned before in a previous article that electronic cigarettes, the best electronic cigarette is a device like a battery powered like tube device, the goal behind creating it is to resemble actual traditional tobacco cigarettes. This tube or device release water vapor laced with nicotine housed in a cartridge to allow users to inhale the vapor of the device as they are smoking tobacco combustible cigarettes.

But before taking about electronic cigarettes safety, we need first to know what is the deference between e-cigs and traditional tobacco cigarettes.

What Are Electronic Cigarettes?

Electronic cigarettes is a device which can simulate traditional cigarettes by having a liquid cartridge filled with propylene glycol which is a common chemical used in food products. The goal behind using this chemical is mimicking cigarettes smoke.

What Make E-Cigs better than smoking tobacco?

What makes electronic cigarettes different, is that they don't contain most of the chemicals which are found in tobacco cigarettes and even don't produce smoke. E-cigs a way to help them to avoid things that may make them the lesser of two evils.

Are E Cigarettes Safe?

E-cigs are touted by proponents and manufacturers as a safe alternative to traditional combustible cigarettes. On the other hand, many doctors disagree this point.

We have mentioned before what Dr. Milan Khara said about electronic cigarettes safety when he said that electronic cigarettes is more safe than traditional tobacco cigarettes which contain more than 6000 chemical. But he added also that there are very little research has been done for showing us how safe are electronic cigarettes.

At the same context, and on the other hand, he added also that there is evidence that propylene glycol mist may cause irritation to the airways and there are no evidence that these devices are risk-free.

In the same topic, the MD, FRCP, director of the thoracic oncology program and the chief medical officer at St. Joseph Hospital, in Orange, California "Ray Casciari" said that his experience over the past 35 years allowed him to know that anything enter the lungs has a chance to cause irritation or lung damage. He added also that no one know well what that is doing to your lungs because of the few number of researches that has been done about electronic cigarettes safety.

 On the other hand, the founder of Wink E-Cigarettes "Babak Maghfourian" said that e-cigs are just a simulating like you are smoking tobacco as they are just water vapour and flavoring, but these devices don't have nicotine, ash, odor or even tar. So it must be a better safe alternative to smoking tobacco.

Depending on these all views, there are nobody have a complete vision about electronic cigarettes safety. But the only thing we can be sure about is that e-cigs can cause damage or irritation to the lungs, but not dangerous as smoking tobacco using traditional tobacco cigarettes.
